Every time I used the people loved the coffee. Not elegant, but that's OK. You can see how much coffee is in the urn, the left and a nice feature. The PIN is high enough to fit most cups, but none of the coffee cups are big enough to take a mug of paper.

Over the past 8 years, I have at least 5 cars drip coffee pots of coffee and my mother bought for me. That ranged from cheap to expensive. Expensive for me in the $ 80 to $ 100 The last coffee maker I bought for my mother a Melitta was determined by the period of car. While you have the device, went to the cemetery and coffee in a little over a year ago, when the heater burned out. Unity of style Some of my recent purchases thermos. My biggest complaint with allCoffee pots were (1) coffee is not hot enough (not 2) coffee really taste so good, (3) dish is not sufficient to make the most of units thermos, and (4) failure to the unit of time is too short, especially for devices more expensive.

This time I decided, for a simple design, a larger container to go (12 cups instead of 10), a mid-range price, and hopefully a good cup of coffee. Well, I got way, with the Bosch. It 'very simple. Makes 12 cups, has a keysee (on / off), turn after two hours, it is easy to clean, and cheap ($ 49.99) on Amazon in September 2003, is now more convenient, and because it makes a good cup of hot coffee comes out and stays warm without a burnt taste.

Other experts say it is cheap made. I think the plastic as strong as any other dish that I purchased. The top cover, where the water poured, including "broken" on, until I discovered that the place was broken and thereexplained the way out is designed to ensure that we could better cleaning. The lid and the rim around the plate is plastic gray. It cleans easily and is less sensitive than that all the white spots. I just changed my DeLonghi Magnifica Super Automatic espresso machine a few days ago. I'm already in love with this car and have some of the best brewed coffee and milk I ever had! I use Starbucks Espresso Roast, and is just as good if not better than me I can drink from Starbucks, and so easy!

The main advantages I found with this machine:
- It 'all for you! Put down the cup, press the button, and you have a fantasticCup of coffee! N. manual or foam casting.
- Clean and wash so I'm not even that often clean!
- It will tell you when it is empty the coffee grounds when he learns to add the beans, more water, or clean it.
- The fact that you prefer, you can choose the strength that is fabulous. I'm drinking regular coffee, espresso beans and milk only! So, if I feel like a regular cup of coffee or a cappuccino / latte, IConcerns about the shift from beans or ground.

Only a few drawbacks which I have already said, but what the disadvantages are not so great, but I thought I'd have to say:
- His Noisy! Between cleaning, washing, heating, grinding and beer, I always afraid I'll wake up at home in the morning just trying to make a coffee. Grinding is actually the quietest of all, but is to choose strong, SIP, siphon, and before a lot of other soundswhen it comes to coffee.

I can not wait, so as to make more coffee and save money and time to stop without a Starbucks every few days. :) The price for this machine is expensive, but II am happy about this and not the smaller model without a car, because this is just a nozzle makes it so easy!

I usually do not write, but I'm looking for a coffee machine for a family member and thought I would see what people on this, I have for about 2 or 3 years in possession tell. I was really surprised to see so many negative reviews! My overall impression of this coffee is great and I even owned the same type in red with a glass jug I burned an update to this model, thermal carafe coffee tasting to be heated in a microwave should be avoided. After working for aCafeteria for four years, I am very picky about coffee and coffee machines, and I think that one works well. The coffee stays warm for at least 2 hours and my only for people who have problems with overcrowding and motivation in the coffee can have thoughts that are not correct and the percentage of ground coffee for water. I do not drink coffee in the car every day (sometimes I prefer the French-pressed and espresso) and I am sure that the longevity of this has contributed toMachine .... If you have a coffee every day or a couple of times a day, you probably should not last more than one or two years if they are willing to pay a pretty penny. So for the price and my purpose, this is the perfect coffee for me. Makes great tasting coffee grinds and condition of obtaining the right proportions ... and, moreover, that it is a very elegant look, and I like that there is no heating element so that it is "good to the last drop."

If I have complaints, II would say that the tip is a manufacturer of plastic, and I want to pieces of heavy duty, there would be, and that's not ideal for cold coffee as the basket does not take sufficient grounds for a strong dual 10-Cup Pot do .

We bought this car just after Christmas, and in love with her since then has declined. We were looking for another, better looking espresso machine, but were instructed to maintain the Gaggia with some friends. This is our first real espresso machine, I had a year ago, Mr. Coffee machine that all was well, but the very Gaggia is head and shoulders above them. He expressed great, but we are still working on him ... great Cream Sometimes we do, sometimes we do not have (thiscould easily be) to blame. The foam is excellent, and although he did not look like the imagination of all models in stainless steel, which we almost bought, is still a good looking car.
Negatives take: no warming tray, and the first shots for a while ', as the car to warm up first. This may be true with most of the machines, and is not a big problem for us. It begins, come on preparation and cups of milk for a few minutes, back and ready to go. Later recordings go much faster.
We woulddefinitely buy this machine again.

In 2004 the Bodum Chambord coffee press received the American Culinary Institute's award for best French press coffeemaker.

The American Culinary Institute judges food preparation products such as mixers, waffle makers, and electric teakettles. These products are judged on criteria important to consumers such as ease-of-use, safety, and the quality of the food produced. The institute also judges food preparation products used in restaurants and hotels, including institutional mixers, large-volume coffee machines, and food slicers.

Instructions for Use

1. Place pot on a dry, flat, nonslip surface. Hold handle firmly, then pull the plunger straight up and out of the pot.

2. For each 1.25-deciliter/4-ounce cup, put 1 rounded tablespoon or 1 Bodum scoop of coarse-ground coffee into the pot.

Caution: Use only coarse-ground coffee. Fine grind can clog the filter and create high pressure. Place coffee maker on a heatproof, nonslip surface.

3. Pour hot (not boiling) water into the pot. Leave a minimum of 2.5 centimeters/1 inch of space at the top. Stir the brew with a plastic spoon.

Caution: Metal spoons can scratch or chip the glass beaker and cause breakage.

4. Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Turn lid to close off the pour spout opening. (Does not apply to the Brazil models.) Do not press down. Let the coffee brew for at least 4 minutes.

5. Hold the pot handle firmly, with the spout turned away from you, then using just the weight of your hand, apply slight pressure on top of the knob to lower the plunger straight down into the pot. Lowering the plunger slowly with minimal pressure produces best results. If the filter clogs or it becomes difficult to push down the plunger you should remove the plunger from the pot, stir the brew, and then slowly plunge again.

WARNING: Using excessive force can cause scalding liquid to shoot out of the pot.

6. Turn the lid to open the pour spout and then pour coffee.

7. Unscrew the filter assembly and clean the plunger unit after each use. All parts are dishwasher-safe.

Check glass beaker for scratches, cracks, or chips. Do not use a pot that is scratched, chipped, or cracked. Install a replacement beaker before using the pot again.

Company History

In 1944 Peter Bodum, the father of today's owner, Joergen Bodum, started Bodum in Copenhagen. Times were difficult at the end of World War II; there was hardly any trade and people were out of work. Peter Bodum managed to wholesale a very small variety of housewares products by Danish manufacturers.

After the war Peter Bodum got an import license for kitchen and tabletop products; he traveled all over Europe and ended up importing kitchen and housewares to Denmark. As in the rest of Europe in those days, a lack of products in Denmark meant a market existed for almost anything to be sold. He specialized in glassware from Eastern Europe.

In the '50s Peter Bodum started developing his own products. He collaborated with the Danish architect Kaas Klaeson for a range of coffeemakers. At the time, industrial-design-type kitchen products were very rare. The first Bodum product to hit the market in 1958 was the Santos coffeemaker--based on a vacuum coffee brewing system. It became an instant sensation not only in Denmark but in all of Europe. Bodum still produces the original Santos design to this very day.

Bodum grew steadily during the '60s, but sadly, in 1967, at the age of only 57, Peter Bodum passed away. His wife managed the company until 1974, when she offered her 26-year-old son Joergen to join her in the management of the company. Joergen quickly brought on board Carsten Joergensen--then a teacher at the Danish School of Art in Copenhagen--and soon put him in charge of overall design for Bodum, including everything from products to corporate design, exhibitions, shops, buildings, catalogs, and advertising. It turned out to be a very long and fruitful collaboration. The two men began to fulfill Bodum's credo--"good design doesn't have to be expensive"--in lots of different ways.

In 1974 the first fruit of Joergen and Carsten's collaboration was introduced: the French coffee press Bistro. It was also the first incorporation of the new Bodum design language--beautiful simplicity and excellent materials for everyday life. Many more variations of coffee presses followed. Since 1974 Bodum has produced over 50 million French presses, taken the leap from "coffee" to "kitchen," and developed and produced a large variety of beautiful household and tabletop designs.

In 1979, when he took over the company, Joergen Bodum decided to move to Switzerland in order to be more centrally located in Europe. He chose the Lucerne area, where Bodum's head office has been located since the early '80s.

In 1980 Bodum Switzerland and its design unit, Pi-Design, were founded. Then, in 1986, the opening of Bodum's first shop in London marked another milestone in the Bodum history. It was designed not only to be the perfect showcase for the large variety of Bodum products but to embody an even stronger presentation of Bodum as an international brand. Many more shops in many more cities all over the world followed: Paris, Copenhagen, Zurich, Lucerne, Tokyo, New York, Dallas, Okinawa, Auckland, and many more. To this day there are 52 Bodum stores worldwide.

With more and more of its own stores in place, Bodum continued broadening its collection of beautifully designed everyday life products--from kitchen to home. Today Bodum offers its customers everything from the latest coffee- and tea-making products to tabletop, kitchen, storage, textiles, bathroom, and home office products. Some stores also have a café where Bodum's own selection of coffees and teas are served.

Most of the negative reviews here are for the model.
What is out there now and how is the FTX33GTF out above review, most of the gaps have been addressed in the old design. For the price, this coffee machine beers a big pot of coffee looks good and it has some nice features.

The FTX33GTF is a 12-Cup brewer, a must in my family. Most of the time we only have about 8 cups of beer, and if it takes about 5-10Minutes. It has an audible alarm that can be enabled or disabled, so you know when the beer is made and adjustable warmer is a nice gesture. I always set "strong", so do not know what a "normal" cup of coffee from this producer would be different. I like to use a timer, but usually at the end cleaing the coffee machine before using it in a way that not every mornign use this feature much. It 'easy to clean and hard carbon that filters the chlorine from tap water is nice to have.If you use bottled or filtered water, but it will need.

Although not enough to keep me from recommending this appliance, there are a few niggles. The light clock is very bright and can not be regulated. Coffee "done" beep is loud and some find annoying. You must pour water in almost slow that it will splatter and a lot of moisture in the upper layers of the machine. The jug that comes with the coffee maker seems rather cheap and thin,but I've had so far. The lid is a bit 'too light and water between the glass and plastic parts ... what to catch drips when it is found.

All in all, I am very satisfied with this coffee maker. These low maintenance, fairly easy to use and a good cup beer joe 'W. And in the end, which is the most important thing.

Toddy, the instruction booklet that came with the delivery system, says that their filters last up to 12 vessels ...

I noticed that this filter basket to take a lot longer than that if some care is taken: First, make sure the filter so that the coffee brewed still flows through the filter in the same direction, and second, rinse the filter thoroughly after each use and leave almost wet to dry. Finally, stored in a clean plastic bag in the refrigerator after use.

I have not noticed any difference in the taste of coffee for the use of filters for longer than the manufacturer recommends, and think that he can not beat the pricefor use, if the extended life of this product!

I saw this car and tried some samples of coffee with my family in the store Nepresso in Boston a month ago. I left them I just make my trip. I think it produces a fantastic coffee and I like the convenience of the pods. I also own the Keurig machine and the Tassimo machine. Obviously I like the convenience of the pod machines. I love the Keurig coffee machine normal and cold coffee. The Tassimo machine can not compete with the Keurig coffee maker. I boughtto do, especially with cappuccino and espresso, but can not jump on Lattissima Nespresso. The Lattissima uses real milk without pre-condensed milk and espresso, the Lattissima produces far superior to everything that is producing the Tassimo. Hands down, the Lattisima is a far superior machine. I have no problem with the nozzle of milk and milk temperature on the machine Lattissima. After reading the other comments on the temperature, I always just run hot water through the nozzlefirst and made sure that my cup was at least room temperature. My model is the cup warmer on which I think is great. He keeps the cups warm all the time. I think the espresso and cappuccino are very warm and pretend that my children. We had a couple of weeks, but is used two or three times a day, sometimes more. I have a dinner within two weeks and hope to be capable of great espresso and cappuccino after dinner. But it also makes it much Iced Latte. During this period Ihave no complaints. We love it!

Shade Grown Coffee - It's For the Birds

Traditionally, almost all coffee was shade grown. The coffee plant in its natural state isn't very tolerant of direct sunlight; thus most coffee plants grow best under the shade of a canopy of trees. In an ideal setting, the leaves from the overhanging trees would decompose and compost into the soil, creating a rich, moist soil in which the coffee plants thrive. Furthermore, the trees overhead provide a home to native birds that eat many insects which would otherwise threaten the coffee plants. Coffee grown in this type of environment would need little to no fertilizers or pesticides to grow; rather, it would grow quite well on its own.

In 1972, scientists developed a new hybrid type of coffee plant. This new plant boasted a much larger crop of beans than traditional coffee plants, and in addition, the crop was easier to harvest because the plant remains small in size. Soon, coffee farms around the world were converting to the new hybrid plant. In turn, coffee farms cut down their native forests to provide direct sunlight for the hybrid coffee plants. Out of the some 6 million acres of coffee-producing land around the world, it is estimated that 60% of that land has been deforested since 1972 as a result of hybrid sun coffee plants.

The loss of forest on coffee plantations has created numerous problems. First, the migratory birds that lived in these trees no longer have a habitat. It is estimated that the population of migratory birds has declined 20% over the last ten years, mostly due to loss of habitat. The lack of trees not only interrupts the bird population. It has a direct impact on the entire ecosystem of an area. A study conducted by the University of Michigan found that shade coffee plantations support a significant number of other species of animals and insects. For example, the study noted that one tree on a shade coffee farm in Costa Rica was home to 27 different species of ants and 126 species of beetles. When the shade trees disappear, so do other animals and insects, upsetting the fragile balance of the natural ecosystem.

Another problem with sun grown coffee is the enormous amount of synthetic chemicals required to grow it. Because there aren't as many native birds present to eat the insects, pesticides are required to keep the insect population down. Sun coffee plants are also treated with chemical fertilizers, because there is no canopy of trees present to provide organic matter that would naturally enrich the soil. Furthermore, plantations growing sun coffee must also rely on the use of herbicides to keep down the weeds that grow in the increased sunlight (shade coffee plantations don't have as many problems with weeds, because the weeds don't grow well in the shady conditions that the coffee plants favor).

All these chemicals that are required to farm the hybrid sun coffee plants create an enormous amount of runoff, which poisons downstream waterways due to runoff and threatens the health of workers on the coffee plantations. The lack of trees has also created serious soil erosion problems. It has become clear that this type of coffee farming is not sustainable.

Traditional shade growing, however, is a self-sufficient and sustainable farming method. It promotes increased biodiversity and requires little to no fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. The Smithsonian Institute's Migratory Bird Center (SMBC) is working to raise awareness and promote shade grown coffee through a certification process. Look for coffees that feature the SMBC's "Bird Friendly" seal of approval, or if you cannot find such coffees, simply look for those that specify shade grown conditions.

Each year, the National Coffee Association of the USA publishes their report on National Coffee Drinking Trends. The report has become one of the bibles of the coffee industry. The 2008 report has recently been made available, and the NCAUSA web site gives a brief summary of what the organization has found out about how we Americans like our coffee. Here are some highlights from the 2008 Coffee Drinking Trends report:

17% of the adult population consumed a gourmet beverage on a daily basis in 2008 and 14% in 2007.

Drinking gourmet coffee has become a national pastime. It's not just the explosion of Starbucks across the nation that's fueling it, though their marketing has certainly awakened the taste buds of a whole generation. These days, you can buy your gourmet coffee at any number of places. Here are just of the few 'new' outlets for gourmet coffee.
- McDonalds, which started selling Newman's Own Organic coffee a while back, has started marketing the McDonalds Café concept, with lattes, cappuccinos and McDonalds Gourmet coffee as of January 2008.
- Burger King's BKJoe brand is roasted by Douwy Egberts, the second largest coffee roaster in the world, expressly for BK.
- Target, the national department store chain, packages and distributes its own brand of gourmet and single origin coffees.

Adults 25-59 led the upswing with 19% of daily gourmet coffee drinkers. This is an increase of six percentage points from 2007.

- On the other hand, 18 to 24 year olds are becoming serious coffee drinkers. In 2005, only 26 percent of young adults in that age bracket considered themselves coffee drinkers. By 2007, that figure was up to 37%, making the 18-24 year old coffee market the fastest growing segment of the market. Older adults, in the 40 to 59 year old bracket, are also big coffee drinkers. This age group increased from 59 percent to 61 percent over the previous year, and those age 60 and over report the most coffee consumers - 74 percent of adults in that age bracket reported that they drink coffee every day.

Consumption of cups per day by consumers age 18-24 continued to trend higher in 2008. Young adults who drank coffee consumed an average of 3.2 cups per day as compared with 3.1 in 2007, a significant increase over 2005's level of 2.5 cups per day.

Our generation grew up thinking of coffee as a morning pick-me-up and after dinner drink for adults only. The 18-24 year old group has a different view of coffee, thanks to the coffee shop culture. Where older generations gathered at the local soda shop, these kids made the local coffee shop their afternoon hangout. Starbucks and other local chains improved their coffees with flavors, sugar and many creams. This makes their coffee more appealing to the younger crowd. As those kids graduate from high school and move on to college, they're finding that their love of coffee moves along with them.

Coffee is a fantastic drink at any time of day, during any season of the year. That being said, a steaming hot cup of java isn’t always welcome once summer rolls around. Don’t let the summer heat deprive you of your favorite beverage when you can switch to iced coffee!

During the warmest months of the year, iced coffee makes for a refreshing change of pace. While most cafes and coffee shops serve these cold concoctions, you may be wondering how to get iced coffee at home. Here are my tips for serving up delicious iced coffee without having to break a sweat:

• Get ice.

This may seem obvious, but you need ice to help you make iced coffee. If you don’t plan ahead by freezing some cubes, you won’t be able to make iced coffee when you want it. While plain old frozen water will do, I prefer freezing several of my favorite Keurig coffee brews in an ice cube tray. When combined with your freshly brewed coffee, these coffee cubes won’t water the drink down.

• Brew coffee.

Next, brew your favorite coffee variety. While you’re welcome to use a regular drip brewer or instant coffee, I prefer my Keurig single cup coffee maker. To make a cup of coffee in less than a minute, all I have to do is pop one of the K Cup portion packs into the machine and press a button. This allows me to brew multiple cups and different flavors very quickly – which means I can pour the fresh coffee over the coffee cubes and start drinking iced coffee that much sooner!

• Mix things up.

Once you’ve poured your freshly brewed coffee over your frozen coffee cubes, you can either drink it straight or add a splash of your favorite liquor. I recommend the flavors of coconut rum, Irish cream, butterscotch schnapps or crème de menthe. If you’re in the mood for extra flavor but don’t want alcohol, try adding a few drops of vanilla or adding some Italian-style flavored syrups.

• Try something different.

If you’d like a more slushy drink, skip the hot coffee. Simply throw a cup of the frozen coffee cubes into a blender and give it a few pulses. Don’t over do it with the blender or you’ll end up with soup. Pour the crushed coffee cubes into a mug and serve with a straw or spoon.

Another fun idea is to create a coffee dessert by freezing your favorite brew in an ice pop mold. If you don’t have an ice pop mold, freeze plastic spoons into the coffee cubes you make in an ice cube tray. Once your coffee pops are frozen solid, remove them from the tray and enjoy. Be careful not to consume your chilled treats too quickly – it might be the first time you get brain freeze from your coffee!

What a fantastic machine. These were the first words that came out of my mouth when I got the chance to test drive the Keurig B70 Single Cup Brewer. Let me take you through the process of my realization. The good folks of Green Mountain Coffee contacted me in helping them review this machine. First I was a little reluctant, but what the heck I decided to give it a try. After all, this brewer is not like your normal drip coffee maker that you can purchase at any Wal-Mart or Best Buy.

After getting past that after thought, four days later I had the machine in my procession and the wonderful single serving coffee, coco and tea packets. The brewer came in a well-packaged box and I had no problems setting up the brewer for my first cup of coffee.

I was a little skeptical of having a machine that only brews one cup of coffee, tea or coco at a time. I guess because I have only owned drip coffee makers in my lifetime - never a machine that was so specialized. But I found it to be a blessing. Drip coffee makers force you to make a full pitcher of coffee each and every time. But what happens after that first cup. If that is all you drink for the day then you have just wasted probably a half of gallon of water and a quarter of grinds. How about if you wanted a second cup in an hour? That old pitcher of coffee has been cooking for the past hour. What a nasty cup of coffee. On the other had the Keurig Single cup Brewer only brews one hot cup of coffee at a time. There is no left over that is cooked for hours.

Now, what is necessary when using this machine? Well, first of all you have to start with Spring Water. This is a necessary and needed step. I tried coffee with tap and spring water and I could taste the difference in the coffee.

Next, you will have to buy the single serve cups of coffee. Green Mountain has a wonderful selection of flavors for the strong pallet to the weak pallet. They also have teas and coco. They sent me a mint tea that my children and I loved. It is also a mint tea that needs very little sugar. So, if your health conscious then this tea will be right up your alley.

After getting the coffee or tea, just plug in the brewer, and fill with the desired amount of water. The brewer will tell you if the right amount of water is in the machine. Pop in the single serve cup, pick your cup size and hit brew. It is that easy. I read out tells you when to hit brew and when the cup of coffee or tea is ready. And once you have the cup of coffee the manufacturer recommends that you rinse out the machine by brewing a cup without the single serve cup. This cleans out the brewer for the next person. I love this system but I had 1 problem, well it's not really a problem just something I wish would be addressed.

I found that I had to put more that one-cup of water in the despiser in order for it to brew. I thought this defeated the purpose of brewing one single cup of coffee at a time. But all and all I absolutely loved this machine. I would definitely recommend this machine to all my friends without any thought.
